student involvement… kinda
So… the hush hush on campus was about the fliers regarding the shuttle bus that will come to campus. I love that students are getting involved and putting out their opinion.. what i don’t get is why now? Why a semester late? Last semester SGA took surveys, asked questions, wanted to know student opinions about the bus… about the shuttle, about the cost, about anything the students would want… and we got some response.. just not… as much as we would like.. and we got a number of responses.. in support of the shuttle. So why is this mystery person putting up posters now?

A lot of the students on campus don’t even do the surveys that they get through pipeline and maybe this person is trying to let more people know what’s going on. Most students don’t waste their time filling these surveys out. ASU is mainly a campus of students who come to school and leave, so many students on campus are not even reading what’s on the ASU website. I’m glad the person is trying to get more students involved about not having a shuttle system because it’s just another financial burden for students. We are in a time of global recession and ASU can’t hold off on this project for a while?
The surveys online were flawed and when I was asked to sign the petition for this shuttle service nobody really told us what it was for. I was under the impression it was to have a golf cart pick students up who were maybe a block or so away from school, and was never told “Yeah and we’re going to take it out of your tuition.”
I want to know too if the facult and employees of ASU are going to be paying for this service? Since the faculty and employees of ASU also voted on it I think it’s only fair to split the costs with them.
So, I hope everyone whodoesn’t want this shuttle bus really speaks up because only 733 students did the survey and I don’t think that’s even half of the student body present.
