My name is Stacey and I’m a senior Communications-Professional Writing major with a Theatre minor. Don’t let the “senior” title fool you as I still have a ways to go before graduating. Before I transferred to ASU from Youngstown State in Ohio, I was a music education major for nearly three years. After realizing that I didn’t quite have the passion and drive for a career in music anymore, I stumbled my way through a variety of majors before finding my way to Professional Writing. Coming to ASU gave me an opportunity to start over. New town, new school, new major.

Leaving behind the “band geek” label, I’ve embraced becoming a “theatre person”. Since my first semester at ASU, I’ve rediscovered how much I love to be on stage. At ASU I’ve been involved with Oedipus, A Raisin in the Sun, Pride and Prejudice, The Vagina Monologues, and the Annual Theatre Festival. For the upcoming third festival, I’m on the student planning committee and I plan on directing a show.

In addition to balancing a full-time school schedule and various theatre activities, I also work full-time as a Head Cashier/Children’s Dept. Lead at Barnes and Noble. Apparently, I must be a masochist and don’t care much about sleeping. When I grow up (because at 27, I still don’t feel very grown up), my dream job would be to work behind the scenes at ESPN in their Stats/Research department.
