Roll Call
My entire enrollment up to now here at ASU I’ve heard repeatedly that the school is boring, lame, and things of a negative nature towards the campus activity. I have attended quite a few events thrown by many of the student organizations along with events at the University Village. There is food, music, games, faculty and staff but the biggest and most important part of the equation is YOU or the participants. If no one shows up to partake in the festivities what else can you expect the turn out to be? With the exception of those who arrive in their clicks and groups and make the best out of the event amongst themselves everyone shows up, grabs a plate, and leaves like they are handing out free chicken biscuits at Chic-Fa-La! I can practically count on seeing the same faces at all the events in hope of socializing with new people and networking to make new life-long friends, but it seems as though the same stereo types of jocks, nerds, cool kids etc. are still present in older adolescent life. My question to you is with food, music, and different forms of games for entertainment “What else can a student ask for to make an event worth showing up to and participating?” All students have a voice in the things that can be done on campus but if you do not speak you cannot expect to be heard. My biggest point in these blog is if you do not vote or give any ideas on campus activities you do not have the right to complain, just as you forfeit giving your opinion you should forfeit stating your opinion on the things already set in place by JAB, Dean Jones, and other organizations.
