Interested in winning $50 just for giving your opinion? Here’s how: Tell us which logo you like best. Everyone who responds by 5 p.m., Wednesday, April 27, will be entered into a drawing for $50 in JagCash, to be placed on your JagCard account. The logos are for a new educational program ASU is creating to meet its reaccreditation requirements in 2012.

The program, called “Knowledge Integrated,” or “KNIT” for short will launch in fall 2012, KNIT aims to provide ASU students with a strong basis of shared knowledge in order to promote a more cohesive and engaging campus community. Have you ever felt as though what you’re learning in class has little value outside of the classroom? KNIT will change that. Each semester, an important area of historical knowledge will be featured across the curriculum, encouraging more of your courses to overlap through a shared set of materials and issues. This will give you a chance to see how different instructors and courses think differently about some of the same materials. It will also mean that when you leave the classrooms, you will be much more likely to encounter others on campus who know and can intelligently discuss some of what you’re learning. These sorts of discussions are crucial for helping students to realize the deepest benefits of learning, including how stimulating it can be to feel connected to an intellectual community that values knowledge to a much fuller degree than mere grades and quiz points. Help us choose the logo that best reflects the goals of Knowledge Integrated (KNIT): shared knowledge, strong connections, authentic personal engagement, and a more cohesive campus community.
