elizabethMy entire life, I’ve only ever wanted to be a few things when I grow up. As a child, I was going to be a vet when I grew up. Later on, I decided being a marine biologist would be a better fit. High school led to deciding on photography. Now, my major is Early Childhood Education. It’s quite a switch, but I decided to follow my heart. I originally did not want to attend Augusta State (few of us native Augustans do), but now I’m glad I stayed. I’m in a wonderful program for my major almost on accident.

While I was going to use Augusta State as a stepping stone on my way to an art school, I found that life in Augusta started to suit me. It’s amazing how life seems to change when you get a bit of freedom…or in my case a lot. Despite being young, I’ve lived on my own for three years now. In the three years since my family moved roughly 1,000 miles a way, I’ve found that Augusta is home. I grew up down the street from the elementary school I’d love to teach at.

On a less educational level, I keep myself busy in a variety of ways. I’m not your typical student. I go to nigh school and am generally the youngest in my courses. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to be on campus during the day. Often, I’m asked why I chose to be a night student. The answer is simple, “Work.” I may have to work my way through school, but as far as jobs go, I’m fortunate. I make coffee (Starbucks) and do arts and crafts (a nursery). I love my jobs. I love my major and so my friends don’t say my biography is incomplete, I love my cat. (His name is Edgar, he’s precious).
