Campus updates

Here’s a few of my thoughts of recent/current campus-related events.

Last weekend, ASU’s theatre group performed their production of “Pride & Prejudice”. My little sister (I say “little”, but she’s 18) played the role of Mary Bennett, and she was, of course, wonderful. The cast was, generally, very good, and I really did have a great time while seeing the performance. The “Candy Mountain”-esque horses still crack me up. So, bravi tutti.

This week, we have pre-registration/priority registration/whatever you wish to call it. If you have the ability to register this week, I recommend doing so. You have until 4pm Friday. If you register now (instead of waiting until the week before classes start in January), you have a much better shot at getting the classes you actually want to take at the times you wish to take them. So, meet with your adviser, and register!

Next Thursday, November 20th, is the ASU Orchestra’s fall concert. The ASU Choir and Glee Club will be performing along with the orchestra for a Handel Coronation Anthem. It should be great fun. I believe that the orchestra is also going to be performing The Nutcracker Suite (or at least part of it), which is basically a “greatest hits” of the pieces from the well-known ballet. So, go and get in the “Christmas spirit!”

Then, Tuesday November 25th, is the ASU “Choir concert”. This concert features the Choir, Glee Club, and Chamber Singers. We’ll be performing a variety of music, and it should be a great concert. So, please come support us; we work our butts of for these concerts. :-p

Until next time . . .
