Shannon

Hi everyone, my name is Shannon Nicolette McCune. I am 17 years old, and I am the youngest of 5 children. I was born and raised in Jackson, Ms to Malinda McCune and Robert H. Williams. I graduated from Robert M. Callaway High School on May 27, 2008, and I moved to Augusta not too long afterwards. This is my first year here at Augusta State University. So far I love it here and I plan to make it my home.  Moving out of state was a big step for me, but I know I will do well.

I am majoring in Elementary Education, and yes I want to become a teacher. I have a passion for children. And working with them is what I do best.  I think our society needs more patient teachers, and why I say patient because children are going to be themselves, and sometimes we are not use to that. I realized I wanted to become a teacher at a very young age, and I was always taught to do whatever my heart desires.

I am a member of New Life Worship Center COGIC.  And I am under the great leadership of Pastors Claude and Regina Harris. I love my new home, it’s a great place to worship the people there welcome you with open arms, and they make you feel right at home.

So far I love it here at Augusta State University, and I plan to become involved with the student activities that will take place on campus.
