Registration

Although sometimes unlikely, things happen.  Did you miss priority registration?  Did you decide that you chose too many classes or not enough? Do you want to change your major (which means changing classes)?  Or did something else just come up and you’ll need to change around some things.

You still have time.  January 5th and 6th is late registration (with fees due by 4pm on January 6th).  Also, schedule adjustments are allowed January 7-9.  If you realize you need an adjustment, start looking into it know.  Talk with your advisor and figure out exactly what changes need to be made and the alternatives.  Get all of your paperwork and codes (if needed) in order so on the adjustment days you can go back and fix anything that you need to change.

Please note that some changes might not be possible.  The classes might be at or beyond capacity (sometimes you can talk to the professor and he or she might be able to get you in the class, but try to register for it first).  And sometimes there might not be enough people to have the class or someone to teach it (although these cases seem to be more rare).  Keep an eye on the classes you want and be prepared with a backup. Just remember that someone might be waiting for your spot in the class you already have, so try to register for that “new” class first, and if you get in, then drop the one you need to drop.

Two more things: Spring fees are due at 4pm on December 4th (for those who have already registered) to hold your current positions.  Also, if you have financial aid, dropping one too many classes can affect your eligibility (and the money), so verify changes with financial aid before they are made (if necessary).

This just in: December 17-19th students without any holds can adjust their schedules online (only).  See infocentral for more information.

Good luck and have a great Spring 2009 semester!
