Keeping up with News on Campus
The way of keeping up with the news is different compared with high school. High school uses an intercom for announcements, and Augusta State uses bulletin boards and the Internet. Keeping up with the news at ASU requires a lot of sacrifice and time to know what is going on. There are various activities taking place on a daily basis and most of the time involve everyone. Some of the activities that take place on campus include: plays, seminars, workshops, and various fun things to do. In addition, a lot of activities involves learning something new and exploring students horizons.
The main idea of college news is to manage my activities and study time. There is always something going on at ASU, so it is impossible to show up at everything everyday. I go to activities when I am not busy doing school work, or studying. Some students substitute their study time to do school activities, which is not a wise choice to make. I have seen other students go that route. The consequence was not a good experience to hear about. The importance of managing activities and study time is very critical at ASU.
Getting involve has a number of positive benefits for students. I get involved in certain activities because I do not want to be stressed with studying really hard or doing schoolwork all the time. Stress is the main symptom that causes sickness, and I am trying to be healthy as much as possible. In addition, getting involved in sports, organizations, or even various functions gives me the opportunity to meet new people and connect with different types of people. Participating in various types of events is building my resume, which is great for job hunting later on in my college career. Getting involved in the college community is a wonderful experience.
