Words are the most effective tool of mankind. With them we have the power to create or destroy. In the end our deeds may be undone, but our words can never be unspoken.

I’m a 48 year old wife and mother of three who graduated from UGA in 1984 with a degree in Journalism. I worked in the field of hospital media for four years, then taught elementary school until 1989 when I became a full time “stay at home” mom. Married to my college sweetheart for 24 years, I’ve been through ten years of medical training and fourteen years of private medical practice with my husband the doctor. In 1999, I began writing feature articles for Augusta Magazine, and I love my part-time job! I’m returning to college this Fall 2010 semester with the twofold purpose of improving my writing skills and obtaining a MAT degree in Secondary Education with English as my content area. My parents were both educators with Master’s degrees and pursuing the same degree has long been a personal goal of mine. I plan to teach English and writing after completing my Master’s degree in 2012.
